The last time I went to look for a marriage certificate, I went to the Troup County Court House. A clerk there sent me to another location, but luckily I stopped by the Troup Archives first. There was a copy of that particular certificate there. I guess your best move might be to stop by the Archives first. This is just off the Square in LaGrange. The employees there are very helpful and offer suggestions about how to best find your information. They will go upstairs to retrieve special items. They could probably tell you if going to Hamilton is worth while. Their stacks contain books on other Georgia Counties and some family genealogies. The Georgia censuses are on film.
Since LaGrange is right off I-85, I would certainly make the Troup Archives my first stop.
Did your Langleys go into Chambers County? There are a few Alabama cemetery books in LaGrange also.
