Hi Cousins. I think I am related to about half of the descendants of early Haralson Co. Littles, Waltons, Duncans, Slaughters, Palmers, Owens, Powells, Witcher, Malone etc. My current roadblock is finding the parents of George H. Palmer who died in Haralson Co. in 1880 having lived in Carroll/Haralson Cos. since 1833. George married Catherine Owens ca 1819 in Haywood Co. NC. George b ca 1791 in NC. Census records in Haralson Co.indicate that George's parents were born in NY but that may not be correct as we all know census records sometime stray from the facts. Catherine Owens was the daughter of Owen Owens and Elizabeth McDowell. George and Catherine moved to Habersham Co. GA ca 1823 along with Daniel McDowell, William Owens, and possibly other families from Buncombe/Haywood Cos NC. They moved to Carroll Co. ca 1833.
Any information on this family will be greatly appreciated. I would especially like to have the obit of George Palmer if anyone has access to it.
Barbara Good
