Hi Jody - thanks for writing - I just picked up on your message.I had found some information on the Hotel on the internet and know that "yankees" were the money behind it.
But am looking for a newspaper article or something from the "company" that would mention my g.grandfather Dennis Collins Allen.His daughter, my g.mother, was born there -
in fact she tore a page out of the family Bible later, that showed her age and where she was born. She never liked knowing she was born in such a small place with a "horrid name as Tallapoosa" - she was funny like that - but later was proud of her father. I have been to Tallapoosa, but not to Haralson County Library. And I have searched the internet for information on the company that was formed, but nothing turned up with information on D.C.Allen.
