On June 3rd (Saturday) at 2 p.m. (2000) in Tallapoosa (Haralson County) there will be
a Memorial Service for Jesse Peters,RS, born
1753 in Craven County, N.C. The marker has
not been placed yet but it will probably be
put in the Veterans Memorial Park. Jesse's
gravesite was located in a family cemetery
known as the William Moses Peters cemetery
(Jesse's son) over in some inaccessible woods. Any interest person is invited to the
ceremony which will be put on by the Field
Lewis DAR Chapter, the Piedmond SAR Chapter
and the Carroll Co. and Haralson Co. SAR and
DAR Chapters. There will be a color guard,
a buglar, and bagpipes. If you know anyone who you think might be a descendant,
