Hello, Jackson family...You had a question about Alexander Jackson,..He was the son of George Moore and Sarah Cabel (Perkins) Jackson, the oldest of their children was born at "The Forks" in Colbert County, Alabama. He was elected County Superintendent of Education of that county two terms. Married Sept. 24,1902, to Mary Cooper of Colbert County, Alabama, a grand niece of the Hon. Hogun being a maternal name of her mother's side, being a descendant of Gen. James Hogun who was commissed Brigadier Ger. from North Carolina during the Ruvolutionary War. He as captured at the fall of Charleston, S.C. and was kept a prisoner on Sullivan's Island where he died during the struggle. He was offered a parol but would not leave his men.
