Yes there is an old cemetery near the church. Pictures of the church and cemetery are shown on the below site. There are no Williams listed as being buried there. However, there are a number of unmarked graves there. My experience is that if he died before 1830 you will be lucky to find a headstone unless he was extremely well off.
AS far as my Williams, they are from Mississippi and I have no idea where they came from. My great grandfather was orphaned at an early age.
