I do not have Joseph H. Ray's parents, but for the marriage of Joseph and Margaret Ellen Harris you need to look in Floyd County, GA as that is where they lived. Margaret's father and mother are: James W. Harris (ca. 1815 - bef. 1860) and Abigail Fambrough (10 Sep 1818 - 19 Jul 1891). Abigail is buried at Pleasant Valley [North] Baptist Church Cemetery, Floyd County, Georgia. Abigail's parents are: Thomas Fambrough (ca. 1747 - 23 Jul 1827) and Karen Maxey (b. ca. 1791 in VA). I'm the historian for the Strain Family Association and mostly have info on them and their connections. I know that Joseph Henry Ray, Sr. died in the War Between the States, but I believe he was a member of Company C, 23rd Georgia Infantry, C.S.A. You might check Lillian Henderson's "Muster Rolls of the Confederate Soldiers of Georgia" to verify. I hope this helps.
