I don't know if there is a relationship between Dodd and Stone families or not, but the Stone family was in Gordon Co., Georgia in 1850, whereas John W. Stone was in Dodd's household in Cass/Bartow, one county south in 1850. It appears that John W. Stone's parents were Archibald (born around 1799 SC) and Mary (born around 1800 SC) Stone, and they appear to have moved from South Carolina to Gordon County, Georgia, between 1842-1850, because all children were born in SC.
Mary is living with John W. Stone and his family in 1880 as the mother, and Caroline the sister was living with him, too.
Caroline had an infant daughter which was one day old on the day of enumeration of the census in 1870, and is not in the household in 1880. This child may have died.
This is all the information I have, since it is not directly part of my family, but John W. Stone's son, Steven A. Douglas Stone, married Dosia A. Kay, which was a great-great aunt of mine. The 'A.' in Steven's name could have been from his grandfather, Archibald.
