Jim, I have recently posted some deeds on the Massey website (message 3704) that prove your Hugh was the son of Andrew Massey and Mary (some researchers think her maiden name was McManus). The deeds name all of Hugh's brothers and sisters. I descend from Frances who married James Eubanks. The Eubanks, the Hugh Masseys and sister Sarah who married Amos Cato were all in Gordon co GA at the time of the deeds (c 1857).

Hugh Massey's children (according to the Gordon co GA 1880 census p 146D) and Arminta, their mother, were all born in GA. Hugh was born in SC.

Would enjoy hearing from you. Jane Clancy Debenport, Temple, TX
