This is Mary (Pool?) Wright's obit from the Calhoun Times, Nov. 12, 1891 -
"Mrs Marry Wright for years a good citizen of Gordon Co. was born in N.C. Mongtomery Co. in the year 1809, died Oct 29, 1891 - aged 82 years and 7 months and 12 days. Her husband has been dead about 28 years, died about the age of 50 years and left her in charge of their children which she was spared to raise and to see them all make a profession of religion and seven of the 8 to become members of the Baptist church, 6 of the children are living."

This is one of Alfred & Mary's son's obits, Samuel L. Wright from the Calhoun Times, Feb. 14, 1918 -
"Sam L. Wright age 70 years and 8 months died at his home a few miles east of town on Jan. 21. Mr. Wright was borned May 22 1847 on his father's plantation 4-1/2 miles east of Calhoun. He died and was buried in the family cemetery on the same place. He is survived by three sons, Julian (Wright) of Pasadena, Ca., James A. (Wright) of Tucson, AZ, and..(fades out))"

Maybe someone living in the Calhoun area knows of the cemetery where Samuel L. is buried, or has information on any of the children that 'made a profession of religion' and became members of the Baptist church. Thanks!
