Have tried to get info on this Knight for several years. Emails from neighbors and others tell me that Morrell A. Knight owned the Knight Saw Company and after he passed away all his genealogy was donated to the Bryan-Lang Historical Library in Woodbine.
I have an email that states he had a son, Bernard Knight. It also states that he was married to Nan Paula Sparre and was deceased in 1979. This was from Maureen Sparre Kostalas, Queensland, Australia, who was a cousin of Nan Paula Sparre.
Another email from James Johnson, in 2006, says Morrell A. Knight had a son Ronald Knight.
My ggfrandfather was John D. Knight, born in 1848 somewhere in GA, and lived in Hilliard and Boulonge, Florida, which is right on the GA/FL line.
I know he worked in pulpwood when he was younger because in 1870 the census says he is a pulpwood worker. I also know that his father-in-law, Elbert A. Allen, Charlton County, Ga., worked in pulpwood.
My grandfather (Zack Knight, Callahan) would have been about the same generational age as Morrell A. Knight. I have been unable to find any trace of a family for John D. Knight, except for probably his sister, Susan E. Knight, who married Joe Allen. John's wife, Emily Amanda Allen, was sister to Joe Allen, husband of John's sister, Susan.
My ggrandfather (John D. Knight) was also a Primitive Baptist Preacher and rode a circuit of 5 churches in north Florida and south Georgia. His home church was Pigeon Creek Baptist Church in Boulonge, FL.
It would be a help to me if you knew the names of Morrell A. Knight's father, mother, sisters, brothers. There are lots of Knights in Georgia and Florida, but I can't connect to any of them. DNA testing tells me he was related to some Knights who went to Alabama and some who went to Texas.
I have a friend, who has Knights in her family tree, also has some Nails. I have heard her speak of Elizabeth Nail, who I believe may be deceased.
Any information you might be able to give me regarding Mr. Knight's roots would be appreciated.
