Ridgeway was name of a militia district (and community) in southwestern Gilmer Co. There is a Ridgeway Baptist Church (and cemetery) in that area. Find Hwy 282 on a map; follow it westward - approx 1 mile from the Gilmer-Murray Co line, Ridgeway Baptist is about one-half mile south of Hwy 282. An old map suggests that most of the original Ridgeway District was south of the current Hwy 282.

There may be a connection between some of our families; email me - radar150@msn.com
