There are many, many Reeds/Reads/Reids who settled in Georgia from about 1775 to 1850. If you have Reed ancestors in this area in this time frame, please consider participating in the Reed DNA group study that is being conducted by FamilyTreeDNA.com. All you need to participate is a living, direct, male, Reed descendant who would be willing to donate an easily obtained DNA sample. Fees are nominal for the information obtained. Do contact FamilyTreeDNA.com for details. We are trying to group these different families.
