Searching for info for J. Avery Couey, b. abt 1896 in Fulton Co., GA and wife, Clara Brooks, b. abt 1899 in Clayton? Co., GA. Charles Terry Couey was born to this union on 31 May 1921 in Atlanta, Fulton Co., GA.

J. Avery was a carpenter and Clara was listed as a domestic. In 1921 they were living at 6 Snider, Atlanta, GA.

Charles Couey was adopted (not legally) by a family named Scott. He legally changed his name to Charles Terry Scott in 1963, about a month before he took his own life and the life of his step-daughter.
