The best place to check is The Atlanta Journal for Dec 23, 1926. Franklin Garrett's history of Atlanta (Atlanta and Environs) has one page devoted to the wreck (volume II, page 825). While you are at the Atlanta History Center, Fulton County, look through any subject folders on trains. Franklin Garrett is a train buff--call him or write him to see if he has any info that is not in the subject folders. One other place at the History Center--Wilbur Kurtz was (deceased)also a train buff and worked with Franklin Garrett. Mr. Kurtz kept 22 notebooks of odds and ends (no index) about Atlanta History, Civil War, and info on trains. I am familar with Mr. Kurtz's notebooks as I looked through all 22 to find info on my ancestor, Henry Irby of Buckhead. Good luck with your research!
