This is a big post but please bear with me.
I'm looking for additional information on Alexander Martin. Alexander M. Martin was born about 1831 in Georgia. It looks like he was married to a Milly by 1850 and had a daughter Sarah C.

I found a marriage record for Alexander Martin and Caroline Kidd on July 12, 1857 in Madison County, Georgia.
I'm wondering where this family went after 1860. I've been looking for a while now and can't find them anywhere. I think something may have happened to them in the civil war but I just don't know. I do suspect that Alexander was a son of Ewell Martin.
Ewell Martin Sr. was born about 1791 in Virginia. It looks like he may have married twice, first to Nancy Vaughn (1808) and second, to Miriam Saylors (1845). Here he is in the census:

Lived next to Ewell W. Martin and James Shoemaker.
The younger Ewell W. Martin noted in 1860 was Ewell Warren Martin who moved to Pontotoc County, Mississippi in the area that would become Union County, Mississippi.
Anyway, my ggg grandpa was John A. Martin, born 1854 in Georgia that shows up in the 1870 Pontotoc County, Mississippi census and he names one of his son's Euel Luther Martin. I know he wasn't one of Ewell Warren Martin's sons and he didn't move to Mississippi with any other Martin's so I'm at a loss. He moved to Pontotoc County, Mississippi with William Dabney Gholston and brother, Nathaniel Bonapart Gholston. I have yet to find a kinship to the Gholston's. He lived next to an African American Martin family headed by Washington Martin who was married to Judia. I haven't had much luck tracing them prior to the civil war but I do know that Judia was from Georgia.
I'm looking for any additional information on these families. Thank you in advance.
