I was given information that Joseph Bagwell born about 1820 married Harriet Surliss 10 Mar 1860. The only marriage record I find is Joel Bagwell married Harriet L. C. Nowlen 10 May 1860. Would anyone know if these two Harriets are the same person? Are Joseph and Joel Bagwell the same person? The Joseph Bagwell I am seeking is the son of William Bagwell and Elizabeth Rowe. There is a land transaction between John Bagwell and Joseph and Berry Bagwell, Floyd, GA; Book E 1847. Joseph, John, and Berry were the three oldest sons of William and Elizabeth. I would appreciate any help sorting this marriage out. A Joel Bagwell also married Louisa Jane Shirley in 1859 in Floyd County, GA. Those two marriages seem close together so perhaps there were two men of the same name.
