John Phillips (1811-1868)

John Phillips was in Fayette Co. at the 1840, 1850 and 1860 censuses. Census records indicate he was born in NC and that his wife Louisa was born in GA. He and Louisa joined Bethsaida Baptist Church twice, Jan. 18, 1840 and Jan. 20, 1844. The inventory and appraisement of his estate is in Fayette Co. Boook H (1862-1871). They had children born from 1834-1854, Rebecca Jane; Mary A.; Elizabeth F.; James H.; Joel Z.; John M; Martha A.; and Susan M.

I think that there may have been a family relationship (but not brothers) with Rev. Trustin Phillips who was born in the 1790s in Darlington District, SC. Trustin was in Fayette in 1840 and 1850, then in Heard in 1860 and 1870 and in Clayton in 1880. Before Trustin came to Fayette, he was in Newton Co. in 1830.

Is anyone else researching this family? I would appreciate any help in tracing John's parentage.
