Since my post, I believe I have found (with help from folks like you) William's parents. I believe they are: Harbard (Harbert) Cook, abt. 1800-d. 1854. Wife was Elizabeth. All were born in GA.I would still like to find any of them in the 1850 census. I guess they could have been skipped. In other census Harbard was listed as a Carpenter and a Farmer.
