WAS THERE A MILITIA DISTRICT NAMED CARROLL IN FAYETTE CO GA IN 1829?

Benjamin Church's property was auctioned off in 1829 in Fayette co Ga. It was lited as lot 95, district 5, Carroll. I am trying to figure out if the reference to Carroll was a military district in Fayette co Ga or if Benjamin Church's property was in Carroll co Ga and maybe Carroll co Ga did not have a courthouse. Any help appreciated. Thanks
