Unfortunately, I can't add to what you already have, but I thought you might have a little more information on Miles than what is shown on the bulletin board. My ancestor, William Ward, was living in Fayette County, Georgia, between 1823 and 1838. He was enumerated two households away from Miles Ward on the 1830 census. You would think that with them living that close to each other they might be related. However, I have checked many Fayette County records and I have found no record that would indicate they were related. There is some strong circumstantial evidence that shows William Ward's first wife was Delilah Peacock. They were married May 7, 1817 in Jasper County, Georgia. Delilah died around late 1834 or early 1835 in Fayette County. Shortly after the death of Delilah (Peacock) Ward, Miles gave his next daughter the name Delilah Jane. That may just be a coincidence, but then again it may not be.
William Ward was born between 1790 & 1800, if the 1830 and 1840 censuses are correct. He died before the 1850 census so I have no idea where he was born. Have you ever found any record that indicated that Miles Ward might have come to Fayette County from Jasper County, Georgia? There were several Wards in Jasper County between 1812 and 1818 based on the land deed index. I have not checked the actual deeds of Jasper County yet, but that is next on my list. Maybe they will show something.
Do you have any information on the John Ward whose taxes were paid in 1829 by Jesse Ward? I noticed that Jesse named one of his sons John T. Ward and one of the Wards in Jasper County in 1813 was named John T. Ward. Again that could just be a coincidence.
Well I know I am probably not any help, except for raising more questions, but I thought I would touch bases with you anyway. I would especially like to know where Miles Ward came from before he came to Fayette County, if you have that information.
