Diane,

As best I am able to tell, Samuel K. Jones was in Fayette Co in the 1850 census then in the 1860 census, he was still there with a family. Fayette Co records show a Samuel K. Jones married Martha McLean on 12-11-1857. The 1860 census also shows Clayton, age 1. He is my connection. I'll have to look at the 1800 Abbeville Co SC census to see if I can find Samuel Sr and his family. Maybe he married Martha Stark. Do you have a source for the elder Samuel and his wife and children in SC? We've always heard they were from S.C. but no idea where. Thanks much for the information; anything on these Joneses is appreciate.
