Seeking information on Miss M. E. Allen who married Thomas Meriwether Gilmer Powers in Fayette County Georgia on December 7, 1854. I have no other knowledge of her name or family, though I can supply her descendents fully. Until today I thought TMGP, who had married Margaret Furlow in Morgan County in 1851 had remained married to her and that she was the mother of his children. I discovered this marriage record for M.E. Allen only today, and it does clear up some discrepancies on her census listings. I have been researching Furlows for ages, but now I find out that I am not even related to them, as the child I am descended from was Miss Allen's and not Miss Furlow's. I believe her full name was Mary Ann Elizabeth Allen, but am not certain. Will be ecstatic to find out anything further, and will gladly supply her descendants to anyone interested. Thank you for any help available.
