Do you have any information on the family of Reubin Neel? I am particularly interested in any other daughters he may have had. I'm trying to track down the mother of Thomas, John, and James Stroud. When their father (also named Thomas) died, Robert Higdon became their guardian in February, 1837, one month after he married Emilia Neel. (The children are listed as orphans with their mother in land lottery records, so "orphan" didn't mean both parents were dead back then - just the one who could conduct business - the father.)

In 1850, an Emilia (same spelling) Stroud was living with Thomas Stroud and his wife and family, and she is old enough to be the younger Thomas' mother. Since she was born around 1795, she is about 20 years older than Emilia Neel. I'm wondering whether Emilia Stroud was related to Emilia Neel Higdon (her aunt?), thus forming the connection between the Stroud children and Robert Higdon. Please let me know if you know of any other Emilias born in the 1790's or around that time, and the names of the other children of Reubin Neel, if you know them.

Thank you!
