I am descended from William Whiddon & Mary Davis also thru daughter, Elizabeth who md Nathan Barwick. Info was provided to me that about a Darlington District, SC deed:
Deed Book F, p. 67, 1812: William & Mary Whiddon deed to Daniel Davis their share of 400 acres, 40 acres that had belonged to Benjamin Davis, Sr. (Mary's father). This was provided by a H. Beatrous in 1992. William & Mary Whiddon had land they sold in Nash Co., NC. There are quite a few deeds in Nash Co., NC. I have found no document naming each and every child; just information from various descendants who have their own records of their Whiddon ancestors that state their particular ancestor, a child of William & Mary Whiddon, was a son or daughter of the couple. The Mary that drew land in the 1827 Georgia lottery as a widow of a Revolutionary Soldier resided in Emanuel Co., GA. There was also a Mary Whiddon in Tattnall Co., GA who appears to be Mary Eason, wife of John Whiddon, a brother of William. It is believed that Mary remained in Emanuel Co., GA where most of her children resided. It is stated she is buried beside William Whiddon in the Barwick Cemetery in Norristown, Emanuel Co., GA. The transcription of this cemetery lists a William Whitten, but no Mary Whiddon or Whitten. It also does not give the dates of William Whiddon. I have not been to the cemetery myself. I would like to see some sort of documentation listing all of the children, for I have a total of 13 and some descendants have a total of 12. If Mary Whiddon resided in Georgia after William died in about 1818, it is most likely she resided with one of the children in 1820.
Eli was in 1800 Darlington Dist., SC census with a large family, including a male and female both born before 1755. However, an older William Whiddon was in 1790 Wilkes NC and 1810 Darlington SC. William & Mary may have been residing (or visiting) with Eli in 1800 Darlington SC. A lot more work has to be done on this family. I have 5 2 1/2" notebooks full of information I'm still in the process of entering into my computer. This is a huge family to trace and being there are so many Williams, James, Johns, and Lotts, it isn't easy, especially when they're all born about the same time.

I have published a book called "Whiddons from England to America" beginning with Augustine Whiddon and then it trails off to son Eli since that is the line of descent of a co-author who initially began the work on the book. There are still some available if you want to purchase one for $19.95. You can send your check payable to Laura Tully, PO Box 69, Grandin, FL 32138. I'm thinking about doing a 2nd volume tracing William & Mary's other children.
