Patsy,
I am looking for information on the Lanes as it relates to them being Guardians, overseers or slaveowners of the Wiggs in Georgia. In the book titled "Footprints along the Hoopee" on page 53, there is mention that John C. Lane at his death held a promissory note for a loan of $33.25 that my great great grandfather Charles Wigg, a free black man owed him.
I am trying to locate the rest of my Wigg ancesters. Hopefully the Lanes may have record of other Wiggs.
