For many years I have been trying to locate anyone doing research on the Thompsons of Emanuel county, especially Swainsboro. Some of the names I am interested in finding are..Della, Sterling, Jesse, Louis, Cora, Harry Hilliard. The Thompson family I am interested in came to the county in the late 1800's from Augusta to get timber for their lumber business in Augusta. Jesse became a prominent citizen there in the early 1900's and was mayor, on the school board, president of a bank and he started a small rail line etc. I need to find someone that is working on this line or any Thompson info.
