There was a Thomas Jefferson Bond, born 1826 in Elbert Co., who married in 1846 Elbert Co. to Martha Higginbotham. They were in the 1850 census of Elbert Co. but moved to Stewart Co., GA where he was commissioned a Justice of the Peace in 1858, 1861, 1865 and 1866. He was a member of Smith Masonic Lodge at Red Hill, Stewart Co.. At age 38 he was listed as a person eligible to be drafted in Stewart Co., Senatorial Dist. 12. He was shown as No. 17, Pvt., Beall's Co., 13th Batt., Ga Inf., State Guards, in muster roll for 67 Aug 1863. After the war he moved to Stephens Co., GA and later moved back to Elbert Co. His Will was proved 6 Oct 1902 in Elbert Co. His children were Sarah Milligan, James Willis, J. Thomas, William Jackson, Benjamin Francis, Boykin Rayford, Ellen or Ella J., Charles W., Jeptha Washington, Epsie Ola, Martha Talullah Alice and Emory Allen Bond. My email
