Recorded 10 Aug 1830. 1820 Elbert Co. census shows only one Fain, i.e. John Fain. 1830 census shows two Fains, i.e. John and Robert Fain. 1840 census shows Charles, Eppy, John H. and Robert Fain. No Fains in 1850 or 1860 census. Elbert Co. marriage records show: Charles Fain and Mary Johnson on 14 Dec 1834, James M. Fain and Nancy F. Tiner [Tyner] on 28 Jun 1853, John Fain and Permelia Tyner on 4 May 1853, Josh Fain and Fannie McClenden on 22 Aug 1897, Mrs. Mary Fain and Caswell Farmer on 23 Dec 1845, Milly Fain and Jackson Dunn on 22 Jun 1853, Julia Fain and John Tennent on 17 Oct 1871, Elizabeth Fain and William C. Hansard on 10 Jul 1876, Martha C. Fain and Sidney Maley on 8 Mar 1886. A list of winners of lots in the 1832 Gold lottery shows the following Fains but does not show in which GA county they resided: Eppy, James M., Jason, Jesse, John, Robert, Thomas and William Fain, Jr.
