If I've broken this down correctly, the following FAINs were recorded in Elbert County, GA:

31 Mar, 1794
Charles FAIN & Judy SPURLOCK
James FAIN

21 Aug, 1799
Charles FAIN & Judith

22 Oct, 1799
Charles FAIN

Which Deed Record(s) contain references to John and David FAIN?

***I have posted a letter from Charles FAIN, grandson of Charles FAIN and Judith SPURLOCK at the bottom of this post for reference***

I have the children of Charles FAIN and Judith SPURLOCK as John, James, Jessee and David. There was also a boy infant that died, as well as two daughters (unknown).

So:

1. Charles FAIN himself is out, because he did not have a Charles and the Jessee that was born to him is not my Jesse.

2. His son John is a possibility, but indications are he died in Elbert County, GA - thus not moving to Johnson County, IL with my Jesse as his son.

3. James is another possibility, although it's odd that Charles (grandson) would have such detailed info about his death, but no info on his children.

4. Jessee is unlikely as the father, because the letter attributes two sons to him, Silas and David (no Charles or Jesse).

5. David is out, as again, his children are listed in the letter and do not include my Charles or Jesse.

I wonder who the FAINs listed in the 1827 Land Lottery were related to. Maybe all Grandchildren of Charles and Judith through John?
