This lady appears on the 1850 Elbert Co Ga census thus:
1850 Elbert Co Ga/Elbert District/HH 256-256/pg 381a: census taken August 1850
SMITH, P/HH/white female age 65 Va/$200
Smith, B/wf age 18 Ga
RILEY, W/wm age 08 Ga

Can anyone identify these 3 persons and/or their relationship, if any???
I'm desparately looking for a "Smith grandma in a haystack...!"
We think that the mother of my GG-Grandpa James Davenport Smith's given name was "Prudence". This name came from an old source that has been 1000% correct on everything else he said about the family so......
Is it remotely possible she was a sister of or kin to this man??
1850 Elbert Co Ga/Elbert District/HH 260-260pg 381b
FOARD, R/HH/white male age 68 Va
Ford, E/wf age 50 SC
Ford, L/wf age 20 SC
Ford, R/wf age 13 SC
Couch, C/wf age 27 SC
Couch, S A/wf age 05 Ga
................or this man ??????
1850 Elbert Co Ga/Elbert District/HH 262-262/pg 381b-ac36:
notes: SMITH, John M. and Malinda FORD married July 15, 1840 Elbert Co Ga
SMITH, J M/HH/wm age 24 SC
Smith, M /wf age 26 Ga
Smith, H A/wf age 7mos Ga

James Davenport Smith married Mary Martha Elizabeth [Shaw] 17 Nov 1850 in Elbert Co and then moved to Oglethorpe Co Ga before 1860.
My undying gratitude for any help identifying this lady!!!
Kathye
