Colonel John Dooly and the Battle of Kettle Creek

There is a three day celebration of the 225th Anniverary of the Battle of Kettle Creek taking place in Washington/Wilkes County/GA on February 13 - 15, 2004. Patriot forces under Colonel Andrew Pickens, COLONEL JOHN DOOLY (for whom Dooly County is named), and LTC Elijah Clarke were victorious over a larger Tory force at the battle fought there on February 14, 1779.
