I am researching the LOWERY families in Dodge, Laurens, Telfair and surrounding counties in Georgia. WILLIAM ELCAINER "Caner" LOWERY was b. 1815 Laurens Co., GA d. 1893; buried in Dodge County. He married Nancy Helen Maloy. His children were: 1. Daniel L. b. 1846 d. Civil War 2. Angeline Elizabeth "Lizzie" - m. Wm D. Etheridge 3. Margaret J. - b. 1850 d. bef 1860 4. Harris Russell - b. 1853 - 1925; m1st: Lizzie Ragan; m2nd: Beulah McGahee 5. Millie Ann - b. 1857 d. 1929; m. Jack Reaves 6. W. A. "Andrew" Lowery b. 1859 m. Catherine Amanda "Mandy" Rawlins 7. Isabella S. "Sophie" - b. 1861 d. 1943; m. Henry A. McKinnon 8. Hugh - b. 1863 d. 1915 m. Mattie McDaniel 9. George W. - b. 1865 d. 1937; m. Lettie Stuckey 10. Jerry E. b. 1867 d. 1918; m. Estell Scruggs 11. Nancy Helen - b. 1870 d. aft 1955; m. Alexander Ragan The children who are not namesakes for the Maloy side of the family seem to be be identical to names used in the line of ANDREW LOWERY and Angelany Loftin/Lofton (who were married 1810 in Jefferson County, GA.)...i.e. Harris Russell, Angeline, Jeremiah/ Jerry, and of course, William Andrew, etc. Andrew Lowery moved to the Laurens county area after 1820. Caner may be one of their sons from the 1820 census. Notify Administrator about this message?
