You asked if I am seeking the parents of Joseph Henry Tripp. I can only answer, "sorta." I have them as Henry and Laura (Perry) Tripp from reliable family sources, as well as U.S. Census and other non-family records.
The question is whether this is Henry F. Tripp, the son of John and Francis (Hinson) Tripp, or Henry (no F.) Tripp, the son of James and Eliza (nee?) Tripp ? These two Henry Tripps are only 2 years apart in age and I am trying to discover which of them married Laura and had Joseph Henry (Jody)Tripp.
So, the family I am trying to pin down consists of at least the following:
Laura (nee Perry) Tripp (wife)
Joseph Henry (Jody) Tripp (son)
Joseph Henry Tripp was b. 3 Feb 1878 in Empire, Dodge County, GA; d. 27 July 1949. He was m. 31 Dec 1901 to Bessie Ann Fouts (spelling on her maiden name varies even within the family - possibly Foutz, Foults, Faust) in NC; she was said to have been from Rowan County, NC; her father was said to have "never returned from the War" (the War Between the States), although I have not yet found his WBTS military record.
One researcher has claimed that my Henry Tripp is the Henry F. who is the brother of Green Jackson Tripp; others have claimed he was the Henry (no F.) Tripp in the household shown on the same page of the 1870 U.S. Census of Pulaski County as the Perry family a few houses away, in which Laura Perry was then a young lady.
I believe Dodge County was formed after the 1870 US Census, correct? So, I need Dodge County and Pulaski County info to know the truth about this family.
I hope this lets you pin them down in the records you have access to there. Any help is greatly appreciated.
