Bernice,
Yes, these Adams and Blakey families are infact mine line....Caroline Blakey, b.1838 listed in the household of John Blakey in the 1850 census is the mother of (Victoria) Catherin(e) Blakey Adams, wife of Geo.W. Adams. I cannot thank you enough for your efforts, this has added greatly to my confirmed facts.....unfortunately, given me another mystery...I note that in the 1860/1880/1900 census Caroline/Carrie's surname is still Blakey, wondering if she was unmarried, or perhaps married and widdowed to perhaps a cousin, as such marriages were common on those days? Would you know of any marriage books that exists for this time periods in Gwinnett County? I would be MOST interested in that information, also, It seems that Mastin H. Adams who is in the 1850 census is listed as being born in South Carolina, while his wife, Elizabeth is stated to be born in Georgia, which would lead me to think that they were married in Georgia also. Her surname is a mystery which marriage records could answer.
Again, most grateful for your help. I am always amazed at the kindness of people in the genealogy community. I feel blessed to be under your wings, and YES, I will certainly return the kindnesses every opportunity that comes my way.
Regards, Jane
