This may be only peripheral to what you are looking for, but I thought I'd tell you anyway. I am researching Anthony G. Butler, married to Elizabeth Ball , both of Laurens Co. SC. They were also in the Shallowford District in 1840. At least one of Anthony's brothers went there with him; could be these Ball families were relatives of Elizabeth. They did, after all, live in the same area.
