Patricia:

A while back, I think it was the DeKalb Historical Society that started to put the 1850 census online, but only got so far, and then it disappeared. They had heads of households grouped by district, followed by just the A's and B's down below. I copied it when it was there, and so here is what they had for Argo families:

ARGO, David, 46, S. C.
Mary, 35
Frances, 20, M
Nancy, 17
Matilda, 15
Jackson, 13
Willis, 12
Lewis, 10
Arminda, 8
Ednund (Edmund?), 6, M
Mary, 4
William, 2
Panthersville Dist., p.137

ARGO, Nimrod, 66, S. C.
KING, Matilda, 45, S. C.
Cross Roads Dist., p.21

ARGO, William, 32, S. C.
Elizabeth, 33, N. C.
Joseph L., 11
James E., 9
Rebecca A. J., 8
John W., 7
Dicy E., 4, F
E. J., 2, M
Emaline M., 7 mo. (recorded July 30)
Decatur Dist., p.9

ARGO, Willis, 38, mechanic
Ann, 25, S. C.
Nimrod, 16
Lucinda, 14
Emily, 11
Morgan, 9
Newton, 6
Mary E., 9 mo. (recorded Aug. 26)
Cross Roads Dist., p.19

The book HISTORY OF DEKALB COUNTY, GEORGIA 1822-1900 by Vivian Price has in one of its indices an index for 1850, and these Argo heads of households match the page numbers and districts listed there. As you can see, there is no Argo family on p.121. I looked all through the A's in the book too, and there were no candidates for a wrong spelling either.
