need help on John Monroe Hudson b. July 15, 1835

John Monroe Hudson born July l5, l835 and died in l914 in Texas. He served in the infantry in the War Between the States. He said he was from around the Macon area and that after the War he was never able to find any of his family. Can anyone help with this grandfather? I will be glad to share. His parents' names are not known.
