I found more than one George Washington Cross in the Dade census records. Do you have any idea when he was born? I believe I have information on Lula Blevins. My husband's grandmother wrote down information about her family. Her grandmother was Nancy Emaline Blevins, the sister of James Wesley Blevins. She identified some of the children of James Wesley Blevins and one of them was Lula Cross. Lula Blevins Cross was the daughter of James Wesley Blevins and Elizabeth Ann Cross. Elizabeth Ann Cross was the daughter of Solomon Cross, a fairly wealthy man in Rising Fawn. James Wesley Blevins was the son of Jonathan and Nancy Blevins. I believe that James Wesley and wife are buried in the Hanna Cemetery in Rising Fawn and that Jonathan and Nancy are buried in Byrd's Chapel Cemetery, north of Rising Fawn.
Solomon Cross owned a large house in Rising Fawn. It burned down when I was a child. My in-laws live where the house once stood. They have a picture of the old house.
I can get you some dates on some of these people--might be the middle of the week.
