I have an indexed copy of the 1860 and 1870 Dade Co. census. I didn't find any Weldons in the index for those years. Are you sure he was in Dade. You may know this, but Sand Mtn. covers several counties, Dade, Dekalb Co., AL, Jackson Co., AL and more. There's even a tip of it that is in TN.
