Looking for information on William D. Campbell and family who I last found on the 1870 Dooly Co., Georgia census. William and his wife Elizabeth Lewis were married 7 Jan. 1828 in Screven Co., Georgia. They had the following children that I know of: Catherine b. 1829, Mary b. 1833, Henry b. 1835, Elizabeth b. 1836, Nancy b. 1838, William D. b. 1840, Louisiana A. (Lucy) b. 1842, Jane b. 1845, Thomas b. 1847, Sarah b. 1849, John b. 1852, Richard W. b. 1854(married Sarah I. SUTTON- my line)and they lived in Dooly and Worth Counth Georgia. Their children were Sidney Smith, Thomas H., John (JW), Wilson, and Sally L.
William's parents were Israel (died abt. 1818) and Loudicy (died abt. 1820, BEST) CAMPBELL. William D. had a brother Thomas B. and sister Pollie who married James Weston BOWIE and they lived in Georgia. Israel and his siblings Alexander, Joshua, Sarah, Millicent and Mary were born to another William Campbell from Barnwell District South Carolina, who died about 1822-1823. The elder William received 600 acres of land in Liberty Co., Georgia land draw in 1791.
I have been told that William D. Campbell, Richard W. and his wife Sarah Isabella Campbell are buried in Crisp Co. at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Thanks,
Pam
