My cousin Marlin Samuel Brown
(He was my Mother's 1st cousin on my Hooks line)
is the child of
John Samuel Brown & Cora Lee Hooks
Grandchild of Joseph William "JW" Brown & Frances Elizabeth
(& William Jefferson Hooks & Elizabeth Amanda Aycock-my
Great of Absolem & Mary Ann Isham.

was Sibella another wife of Absolem?

I don't need a copy, but would like the facts.
And since Mary Ann Isham did not marry Absolom until 1849- and Rachael Flinton died 1833-
Probably Mary no date
Margaret 1842
Joseph William 1843
John S 1844
Catherine 1846
Zachariah 1848
and possibly Sarah no date
would be the children- with the next one born 1841

Is Jasper the county seat of Lafayette?
Mayo Courthouse is?

Just a copy and paste would be great on the estate of Jeter Anson Hogue Jr (Husband of Penelope Hooks)

If you want to mail it-
3311 Westgate Dr. Albany 31721 is my address.

My Hooks cousin-does not have this line-(That I know of)
He and I have-beyong T J above- Parents Daniel Hooks & Amelia Scarborough-of Lee Co Ga (Married Terrell because the courthouse had burned down in Lee)

Daniel left for the civil war after apearing FOR SURE in only the 1860 census, with Amelia and the oldest child Thomas Luther. Mine was born after the census.

He died in the war-and Amelia was in one more census-this time in Stewart Co. By the next one- an aunt had Luther-as nephew (Or to be more specific, my great Aunt-Grandaddy's sister, and Marlin's Mother's sister- remembered the Aunt. She - Aunt Rassie Hooks-lived to be 100 and died two years ago. She was great help on these lines from her 70's on until a couple of years before she died)

Daniel-is not proven beyond that point-as the only one I find his age was with a newly married young Baker Co.

So from there I have lots of supposition, but a burned county, and a flooded county with no records.

In over 25 years-the line I started with-my Mother's maiden name, and a family reunion I started in 1968...still going- and one more Hooks..Daniel.

My William Jefferson was in Randolph-as a laborer, the year his brother was "nephew". And with strangers. A teen with no parents...and apparently not a lot of support.

BUT-on Hooks- I started the Hooks list-which later became the RootsWeb surname list-and still have it. We are having our 21st Reunion in Pensacola Fl. the 16th of June.

So I have been very involved in Hooks-period.

You and I share David Caldwell and Ann Harris- I don't know if we exchanged that, though I see evidence on Jeter Anson Hogue-in my notes-a year or two ago.

I have his son William -sibling to your Mary...
who died in Greene Co. Ga-
His dtr Nancy b a 1765 married as his second wife-John Armour Rev. Sol. and had
Cynthia H 1789 who married Archibald Gray and had Amanda
married George A. Brown had Wm. Nathaniel who married Mary Jane McMichael-in Randolph Co.-
Their son Wm. Eudonah-married Georgia Judson Roberts in Terrell- my Grandparents
and had my Father Eudonah Causey Brown- married Nina Ruth Hooks-mentioned above-as my Hooks Mother.

I don't know a lot about David and his children, or William & His-but would love anything you have. (Maybe not on here-as it is off subject)

Ms. Gerry (Brown) Hill Albany Ga
