In Reply to: John T.(Tollie/Tolley/Tallie) BROWN b.Dec. 1871-72 by Pauline Miller of 236

These Browns were my grandmother's sister's family. Aunt Clyde (Uncle "Tolley's" wife-name actually John Talton) was second child of William H. Mathews and Ann Eliza (Turner) dau. of Jacop P. Turner of Crawford Co. They are buried in the Brown Family Cemetery on Boy Scout Road, near Byron/Crawford Co (not sure which county the cemetery is actually in as it is near co. lines of Peach/Crawford/maybe even Bibb Co.) Don't be confused-there is another Brown Cemetery on the same road-maybe Tolley's parent's family-I had not ventured yet to find out who his parents were. (I've been working on the Mathews/Rowland line as my grandmother (Aunt Clyde's sister)Maude Eleanor Mathews married Henry L. Rowland of the area. I visited the cemetery last November and jotted down most of the interments - but not all:
John T "Tollie", sr. b 12-18-1872 d 10-28-1930
Clyde Elmyra (Mathews) b 2-9-1886 d 6-21-1979
John Talton, jr. ("J.T.")b 9-23-1910 d 7-16-1977
Warren Willis b 4-15-1912 d 10-11-1985
Columbus H. Ashley ("Lum")-son-in-law b 8-31-1895 d8-20-1977
Maggie b 9-5-1909 d 3-21-1986
Tollie & Collie Brown b/d 8-17-1933 (Maggie's twin boys)
Talmadge "Tal" is probably buried in Houston County (his widow is still living)
Mabel still living in Macon (Bibb Co.); husband Cecil died "long time ago"
Claudia - not sure about him but will find out if you want to keep in touch diretly via email (enaylor@highland.net); will be visiting Macon area this summer
Wyleta still living in Macon (husband George Arnold died some time ago); she had a fall, injuring her head, and can't remember a lot of the "old" info; I was privilged to talk to her on the phone a couple of months ago.
Trust this fills in a lot of gaps. (Would appreciate info on John T.'s siblings - I can remember a lot of Brown names from my father's growing up years but don't know where they fit in.)
Regards,
Ellie (Eleanor Rowland) Naylor
