I am a research volunteer for Coweta Co., GA and am NOT related to this family. Here is some information that may be helpful to you in your research:

The 1870 Coweta census shows that your Robert Jones was occupied as a minister; it doesn't say the denomination. Might this be your guy?
From Methodist Preachers in Georgia 1783 - 1900:
Robert Jones (11-19-1829 - 1-17-1876)
Methodist Episcopal Church South
b. DeKalb Co., GA; d. Senoia, GA; son of Rev. James Jones; converted at Warren Campmeeting 1842; College Grad.
Made Elder in church 1856
Served the following appointments:
1851 Augusta; 1852 Dahlonega/Gainesville; 1855 Dalton/Marietta; 1856-57 Calhoun/Rome; 1858 Pincipal of Cherokee Wesleyan Institute; 1859 Bethel in Augusta; 1861 Weston/Americus; 1862 Sumter; 1863-64 Whitesville/Columbus; 1865-66 Coweta/LaGrange; 1867-68 Coweta Circuit and LaGrange; 1869-70 Meriwether; 1871-72 Grantville/Coweta; 1873-75 Senoia

I do not find a listing for a burial for this individual in the Coweta Co., GA Cemetery book.

I hope that something here is helpful to you.
Best wishes in your searchings,
Julie O'Neil Perkins
