REID/REED

John (?) and Mary Ann Reid moved from GA to Tallapoosa Co., AL (probably from Upson Co. or Coweta Co., GA) during the late 1830s or 1840s. They probably lived in Stow's Ferry or Jackson Gap, AL. Their children, born between about 1813 and 1835, were James (?T), Andrew B, Courtney/Corney, Eliza/Louisa Reid Traylor Locke, John H., Phillip P., Mary Ann, Elizabeth (Reid Ray), William H., Jesse T. (born 1831 in Coweta Co., I believe), Abner L., and George Washington. At least two of the offspring migrated to Texas (James and Jesse T., the latter about 1867). Jesse and George both served in the Civil War, Jesse with a TN regiment. The older Mary Ann Reid died in Tallapoosa Co. about 1863.

I should be very grateful to talk with anyone who has information, and happy to share my own (mine is largely about the Jesse, Mary, and George lines). In particular, I would like very much to know the father's (? "John") full name and birth date/place, the mother's (Mary Ann) maiden surname and birth info, burial places, and any of the siblings' lines.

Many thanks,
Bill Reid reidw@reidpsychiatry.com
