Kaye, this is a guessing game only. In the 1820 Salem, Clarke Co.Ga. census, Alexander Walden is listed along with a William J. Jones. As you listed, Joseph Jones is in the 1840 Heard Co.Ga census, and in the 1850 Talladega Co. Ga. census along with father in law Alexander Walden.
In the 1850 Heard or Talladega... can't remember... there is an Agnes Jones, age 82, widowed. In the Talladega Co.1850 census there is a William J. Jones age 39, a Willis H. Jones, age 58.
Joseph Jones m. Eliz. Walden named one son William and one son Joseph Threat Jones. William named his son Willis C.Jones. Can I hope to tie these names together to make a family or am I wasting research time? Thanks. C. Jones
