Seeking information on Mary __?__ Shell born abt 1815 in Tennessee. She was either a Shell by birth or married an unknown Shell and had a son William P. Shell born abt 1832 in Georgia. She married Patrick Cash in Benton (later Calhoun) County, Alabama in 1842 and they had two children: Nancy Elizabeth Cash who married Robert Wilkerson and
James Cash who married Louisa Jane Wilkerson.

She was in the household of O. Sanders in Chesnut Mountain, Hall County, Georgia in 1860 and then in 1861 married Obediah Sanders in Coweta County, Georgia.

Her son W.P. Shell married N. Melissa Cupp in Carroll County, GA in 1861; then her daughter Elizabeth Cash married Robert Wilkerson in Calhoun County, Alabama in 1862 and her son James Cash married Louisa Jane Wilkerson in 1863 in Calhoun County, Alabama.

Both Mary Sanders and William P. Shell bought land in Calhoun County, Alabama in 1870 and were in that county in the census of that year. They were still in Calhoun County, Alabama in 1880. There is a record of W.P. Shell taking out a loan in 1882 in Calhoun County. He was sued for non-repayment of this loan in 1887, but "was not found."
Nothing further of him is known, but two of his daughters were living in Chattanooga by 1900.
