A C.O. Duke, white female, age 6, born in Georgia, is enumerated in the LDS transcription of the 1880 census of Paulding County, Georgia, the daughter of S.M. Duke, white male, age 51, born in Georgia. His wife is N.E. Duke, age 47, born in Georgia. There are four more children: G.E., son, age 19; B.E., daughter, age 17; E.T., daughter, age 14; E.L., daughter, age 12; and J.A., son, age 12. All born in Georgia. Only initials are given in this census and the actual census should be compared with the LDS transcription for verification. This may be the same S.M. Duke head of household who appears in the 1870 Census of Spaulding county but not sure. His name may have been Samuel M. Duke.
A Mrs. C.O. Whittle, white female, age 66, died in Coweta County, Georgia 15 July 1941. You can obtain a copy of the Georgia Death Certificate for this person that may show the father's name and the mothers's maiden name if the informant knew the information and correctly reported the names.
