My John Manley would be off by one generation from your Nancy Manley, but their could be a connection with John Manley's father:

James Tyre Manley b. 11/26/1814 Scotland d. 06/22/1881 bur. behind 1st Baptist Church Chapel in Roanoke, AL. James Tyre Manley and two known brothers came to South Carolina and settled in Spartanburg District. One brother moved to Illinois and one (Baptist Minister) settled in Virginia. He was quite well known around Richmond. Jim Tyre Manley married Mary NIXON Feb/24/1839 at her father's home in Ninety-Six, Laurens District, South Carolina, Maryís father, Absolom Hawk Nixon, was a said to be a Cherokee Indian and a Private in Capt. Starnesís Company, South Carolina Militias in the War of 1812.

Hope this is of some help. Bill
