Marriage Bond dated 7 January 1793, Columbia County, Georgia.... "Marriage of Hannah GRIFFYTH [variant spelling: GRIFFYTH, GRIFFIN] to Henry THOMSON [variant spelling: THOMSON, THOMPSON], bond application 7 Jan 1793, Columbia County, Georgia, USA. "Know all men by These presents that We Henry THOMSON & William THOMSON are held & firmly bound unto Lewis GARDNER Register of Probate for the County of Columbia in the full & just sum of Five Hundred & pounds Specie for which payment well & truly to be made & done We bind ourselves our Heirs Ancestors and Administrators & Afsigns & Every of them for and in the whole firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals & dated the seventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & Ninety three. The CONDITION of the above obligation is such that whereas the said Register of Probate hath this day Licensed any Minister of the Gospel or Justice of the Peace to join in the Honourable State of Matrimoney Henry THOMSON of the one part & Hannah GRIFFYTH of the other part provided there be no Lawful cause to Obstruct the said Marriage & they the saids Henry ThOMSON & William THOMSON or either of them do well & truly save harmlefs the said Register of Probate & all & every other person or persons concerned a gainst all & every other person or persons whatsoever then this obligation to be void & and of none effect or else to remain in full force & virtue.
